16 Nov

We wave farewell to our International students who have been with us since January 2015. Our International students all return home now with the highest level of training from us and certificates from CIBTAC, CIDESCO and OICB. We wish them well in their new ventures back home and hope they share the European skills they have learned at OICB to raise the standards of beauty therapy across the globe. They will be missed by the OICB team and the friends they have made in the UK. Some have fallen in love with the Cotswolds so we are sure we will see them again when they when they holiday in England.

Student Awards

For every group of graduates we hold a graduation awards ceremony where the students are presented with their certificates by the College Principal and certain outstanding students are presented with awards. On Thursday 5th November celebrations were held to celebrate a 100% success rate for our CIDESCO students. A celebratory drinks and canapés party was held with students, staff and their CIDESCO examiner Sonia O’Dwyer.

CIDESCO Student of the Year Award 2015

Hitomi Oishi was awarded ‘CIDESCO Student of the Year Award 2015’. Erika Oswin, College Principal, awarded Hitomi with a much deserved shield trophy and a Dermalogica gift. Hitomi is now looking forward to a successful career on the Steiner cruise lines working in the Spa. Shara George won an ‘Outstanding Achievement Award’ with particular mention of her amazing retails sales achievements. We wish all out outstanding graduates well on the remainder of their journeys and we are all very excited for them. These students have worked exceptionally hard and should be very proud of themselves.

Our intake in September was full, so we are now recruiting students for our next intake in January 2016.

Our January CIDESCO/CIBTAC course is a full time course taught 5 days per week. This is popular with International students looking to gain a new career and take their skills back to their home countries. The students can choose to take a short course in Aesthetics or Body Therapy, although once they are here, they all like to come back to study both. The students who take both CIBTAC courses can be offered the opportunity to take the CIDESCO examination in order to reach the most prestigious level of beauty therapy qualification in the world. Students are only offered to do this if they have completed both CIBTAC Level 2 and Level 3, reached high standards in their studies, presented excellent homework, excellent attendance and have a relevant study visa.

We also welcome UK students to join this course, who study full-time from January 2015 to November 2015. So despite the busy run up to Christmas we are liaising with lots of lovely new students, helping them to apply for this course and start the new year with a new challenge.

We are holding private tours to view the college and discuss our courses and your career plans. If you would like to come and look round the college, please email info@oicb.co.uk to book for a tour during December and January. We are open during the school holidays so come and see us for careers advice and some festive cheer!
